Each summer, Southwestern welcomes incoming students and their families to campus for Sprog. Derived from the term for pirates who haven’t yet been trained on a ship, Sprog allows incoming Pirates to take their first steps toward becoming Southwestern students. Students register for classes, meet academic advisors, visit residence halls, engage with faculty, staff, current students, and future classmates, and have fun along the way. Families attend sessions on academics, student life, and financing, helping them feel more informed and confident about where their student will live and learn. It’s also a chance to connect with other families and experience the welcoming community that makes Southwestern feel like home.
