In Dr. Dilani Koswatta’s chemistry lab, students are encouraged to apply their imagination to real-world problems using the scientific method. With this inquiry-based learning approach, first-year biochemistry majors Kimble Gould ’28 and Sabina Martinez Carreon ’28 led a project aimed at increasing the phenolic compounds produced by spinach plants when using various different types of fertilizers.
