Part-Time Assistant Men’s & Women’s Tennis Coach

Southwestern University seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach. This is a Regular Part-Time Position that assists the Head Men’s & Women’s Tennis Coach with all aspects of the varsity Tennis program. The successful candidate is expected to comply with departmental guidelines set forth by Southwestern University, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, and the NCAA Division III.
Primary Duties:
- Organize practice and training preparations and on-court instruction.
- Travel with either or both Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams to competition.
- Assist with the recruitment of student-athletes including phone calls, travel to watch prospects, correspondence, campus visits, maintaining recruiting files, etc. as needed.
- Assist with team travel arrangements including vehicle/bus/plane scheduling, meal planning and hotel room reservations, etc. as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience in playing and coaching at an advanced skill level.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education.
- Strong communication skills for recruitment and coaching.
- Willingness to adhere to the University’s Core Values.
- Ability to complete and maintain required university health and safety courses and certifications.
- Reliable and maintain a regular work schedule.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass a University Van Driver’s Course.
Preferred Position Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience with NCAA Division III competition and rules.
- Strong computer skills particularly in Microsoft Word, Excel, film editing and recruiting software, as needed.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability work as a team.
