Sean Lade ’25 was originally drawn to Houston Methodist Hospital because of their slogan, “Leading Medicine.” The senior biology major was accepted into the hospital’s prestigious Summer Undergraduate Research Internship program, where he spent 10 weeks conducting research. Alongside some of the top researchers in the orthopedic medicine department, Lade studied drugs at the cellular level, working to determine how different drugs impact cells at different concentrations. The experience reinforced his desire to work with patients at the clinical level and sharpened skills that he brought back to Southwestern for his senior year.
