      Hi! My name is Mia Martinez, and I am a senior at Southwestern University. I am a double major in Psychology and Philosophy and a part of Alpha Xi Delta on campus. I recently studied abroad in Granada, Spain, with a faculty-led program through API during the summer of 2023.

      I am looking forward to helping other students have the opportunity to experience studying abroad.

    • Advising for Study Abroad & Study Away

    Students are required to have study abroad advising prior to application. You may meet with a Peer Advisor or Study Abroad Advisor, attend Group Advising or an Information Session, or complete the Virtual Study Abroad 101 session.

    Drop-In Peer Advising

    Fridays, 10:00-12:00 PM, Study Abroad Lobby, Prothro 230 - no appointment needed!

    Study Abroad/Away 101 Sessions

    General advising sessions that are offered throughout the term - no appointment needed! See Events Calendar.  Students who cannot attend the scheduled group information sessions in person may complete Virtual Study Abroad 101.

    One-on-One In-Person Advising

    IMPORTANT: Once you schedule an advising appointment, please login to Via with your Southwestern credentials and complete the short intake questions, at least 24 hours BEFORE your appointment time. If none of the times available work for your schedule send as an email to request an alternative time.

    Virtual One-On-One advising is available during school breaks and summer term.  Once you have booked your appointment send an email to that advisor requesting a virtual appointment.  Throughout the year students may also complete Virtual Study Abroad 101.
