Dr. Holly Dalrymple is Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Southwestern University. She conducts SU Chorale and SU Singers, teaches Advanced Choral Conducting and Repertoire and Choral Methods and pedagogy for Music Education majors.

Dr. Dalrymple has directed middle school and high school choral programs in Richardson, Plano, and Pflugerville, Texas. Prior to joining the music faculty at Southwestern University, Dr. Dalrymple served as the Director of Choral Activities (2019-2022) and as the Associate Director of Choral Activities (2013-2019) at the University of Wyoming. While at UW, her choirs performed for the Wyoming Music Educators Association and the American Choral Directors Association Northwest conference in Portland, Oregon. 

As a frequent festival clinician, Dr. Dalrymple focuses on sound production, teaching the young female voice and leading treble choirs, and strengthening musical independence through literacy.  Research interests include vocal pedagogy and sound production in the choral rehearsal, issues of gender and equity in music, sociology and identity within music occupation, and the supervision of future choral music educators through meaningful pedagogy and methodology. 

She earned a Doctoral degree in choral conducting with a related field in voice performance from the University of North Texas, a Masters degree in choral conducting from the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of music education from Texas State University.
