Hosted by the Center for Career & Professional Development (CCPD), the Skills, Opportunities, Action, and Results (SOAR) summit provided sophomores with a comprehensive three-day professional development conference, beginning their journey into career exploration and acquiring essential skills. This immersive event exposes students to crucial career-management skills such as effective self-marketing through resumes and interviews. Keynote speakers, including Chad Littlefield, cofounder of We and Me Inc., offered valuable insights on building professional networks. Etiquette expert Diane Gottman addressed the importance of proper dining etiquette in a professional setting, and former NFL coach Daron K. Roberts provided perspectives on career development.

Throughout the three days, students actively participated in workshops covering resume enhancement, interview techniques, and other necessary skills for their professional journey. Beyond the informative sessions, attendees had the opportunity to connect with nationally recognized industry experts and network with Southwestern alumni. The summit equipped sophomores with practical career-management skills and fostered meaningful connections, providing a holistic approach to professional development.
