Ramirez joins Southwestern with an established history of developing and providing effective career resources for students at Texas liberal arts institutions. Prior to joining the Southwestern staff, he served as director of Career Development and College Relations at the University of Texas at San Antonio and worked in the career centers at St. Edward’s University and the University of Dallas.

Ramirez states, “I am thrilled to support the CCPD in fostering student career readiness at Southwestern University.”

At Southwestern, Ramirez will lead the nationally-ranked CCPD in its efforts to harness Southwestern’s entire community through engaging and reinforcing partnerships and collaborations to ensure students’ post-graduate success. With a portfolio that includes a history of cultivating key partnerships, job placement, graduate school acceptance, career counseling, professional development, and volunteer engagement, his leadership will include guidance to Southwestern students and alumni in developing, assessing, and implementing life-long career development options.

His passion for, and dedication to, the field of career and professional development is perfectly aligned with the commitment that all of us at Southwestern have to our students and alumni and his leadership of the CCPD will enhance our already very strong trajectory.”

Ramirez received his Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and history and his Master of Business Administration, both from the University of Dallas. He has been active within The Career Leadership Collective, the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, and multiple chamber organizations.

He adds, “Successfully navigating college and professional life requires access to a variety of resources. I look forward to working with the CCPD to help our students make use of those resources critical to developing a fulfilling career.”
