Outstanding Intern of the Week - Mackenzie Follis
This week’s Outstanding Intern is senior Psychology major Mackenzie Follis (@macfo_) Over the summer, Mackenzie served as a Family Advocate Intern with the Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center.
The internship began by shadowing other Family Advocates, and eventually Mackenzie was able to begin the process of working with caregivers to explain all the resources available at the CAC as well as following up with them as needed after leaving the center.
Mackenzie says, “This opportunity helped me gain not only a deeper understanding of the various forms of child abuse, but how to help educate others of its harsh realities. This internship helped me realize that I will continue on my path of getting a master’s degree in counseling in hopes of helping adolescents and teens through various abnormal psychological daily symptoms.” Congrats MacKenzie!
