“Where Do We Go from Here?” on November 7, 2024, Bishops Lounge at 6:00PM.

The goal of this panel discussion is to continue the conversation following the uniformed November 5 election. We aim to ensure that students, community members, and all eligible voters understand their role in our democracy and how to engage with legislators on key issues. The discussion will focus on policies, civic engagement, ethics, and the Texas State Legislature.

We believe that this event will provide a valuable platform for dialogue and education, fostering a deeper understanding of civic responsibilities and encouraging active participation in the democratic process.

Moderator: Tanisa Jeffers Bernard - Associate Judge, Austin Municipal Court, where she presides over bench trials, jury trials, and pre-trial motions. With a commitment to justice and community service, she oversees both trial and plea dockets at the Downtown Austin Community Court and reviews plea agreements between the City’s Attorneys and defense counsel. Tanisa is dedicated to serving the public with integrity and fairness, continuously striving to enhance the judicial process and support those in need.
