Community Care

At Southwestern, community care is part of campus culture. Students look out for one another.

That spirit has led to initiatives created and maintained by students to address essential needs such as food access and hygiene with dignity and discretion. Efforts like these demonstrate students’ shared commitment to helping one another and ensuring that no one has to choose between meeting basic needs and pursuing their education.

Initiatives

Pirate Pantry – A student-run pantry providing non-perishable food and easy meals to enrolled students.

The Period Project – A student-led effort to provide free menstrual hygiene products in restrooms across campus.
