Majors & Minors
Exercise+Sports Studies
The Exercise and Sports program enables students in our liberal arts environment to combine ESS courses with other academic disciplines to develop interdisciplinary degrees.
Exercise and Sports Studies students examine exercise and sport from several perspectives including sociology, psychology, pedagogy and business. The ESS minor meets the needs of students who wish to explore the areas of exercise and sport in conjunction with various majors offered at the University. In addition, the ESS minor meets the needs of students wishing to pursue areas such as teaching certification and/or sport management interests.
The Exercise and Sports Studies program also offers Fitness and Recreational Activity classes in which students develop the knowledge, skills, and physical abilities that contribute to their enjoyment of various sports and activities throughout their lives.
