Diversity at Southwestern / Resources for Faculty, Staff and Administrators

Faculty, Staff, and Administrative Resources

A diverse faculty and staff is a cornerstone of academic excellence. Southwestern offers support designed to meet the unique needs and challenges underrepresented populations face in academia.

Black Faculty & Staff Association (BFSA)
Black Faculty and Staff Association (BFSA) is an organization representative of the university's goal to be more inclusive and diverse. The BFSA’s mission is to promote an environment that fosters cultural sensitivity and enrichment by providing quality programming, networking opportunities, and guidance to SU’s Black faculty, staff, students, and the greater SU community.

All-Gender Restrooms
Through the efforts of a campaign led by students in SU Planned Piratehood, SU Fed Up, and the Office of Diversity Education, all-gender restrooms were established on campus in 2015. View a map of all-gender restrooms.

Cross-Cultural Center Library
The Cross-Cultural Center, located in Prothro Lounge 234, is home to the Diversity Resource Library. With more than 1,000 books, DVDs, and CDs, this library is an excellent resource open to all members of the Southwestern community. View our online library catalog.
