Southwestern University and Texas A&M University (TAMU) have established a new partnership to promote cooperation, academic engagement, and the recruitment of SU students into graduate business programs at TAMU’s Mays Business School.

“We are thrilled to partner with Texas A&M’s Mays School of Business,” Vice President for Academic Affairs Alisa Gaunder said. “This collaboration highlights the power of a liberal arts education—one that equips students to think critically, communicate clearly, and tackle complex challenges across disciplines. It is a testament to how these skills not only lead to success in any career, but also enable students to pursue advanced study, even in disciplines outside their major.”

This partnership helps Mays Business School identify and recruit exceptional Southwestern students from a range of disciplines for admission to several graduate business programs at Texas A&M—including Master of Science degrees in Analytics, Business, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Real Estate, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

The Master of Science in Business is available exclusively to non-business majors, making it an ideal pathway for SU’s liberal arts students seeking to expand their career opportunities with advanced business training. Southwestern and Texas A&M will work together to facilitate seamless admission pathways for eligible SU students interested in these graduate programs.

Through the collaboration, Texas A&M will provide interested Southwestern students with academic advising, admissions counseling, and graduate program information. TAMU will organize campus visit opportunities for SU students to engage with faculty, staff, and current graduate students.

Southwestern will work to organize recruitment events featuring Texas A&M representatives and will assist in facilitating TAMU visits to Georgetown for on-site presentations and workshops.

Advisors from both universities will collaborate to support SU students in identifying and satisfying prerequisite requirements, and will share updated admissions policies, application deadlines, and scholarship information.

Participation in this program is open to all Southwestern students who meet the published admission criteria for the Mays Business School. Admission decisions are based on academic performance, standardized test scores, leadership experience, personal statements, and references. Selected SU students may be eligible for early decision or conditional admission pathways.

More information about this new partnership will be released in the coming months.
