• You will be pre-registered in at least 2 courses prior to Sprog. One course will be your First-Year Seminar (FYS, for freshman/first-year students) or Advanced-Entry Seminar (AES, for transfer students). The other course will be an introduction course for your intended major, when possible. If you are undecided about your major, we will register you in a general education course.
• Please complete this survey to express your interests and provide us with additional information. You must complete the survey before June 7th to ensure your enrollment in the courses. 
• You will register for your remaining courses during Sprog. 
• You will be able to make schedule changes when you meet with your official advisor at the beginning of the fall semester.

You may print and sign this contract to bring with you to Sprog. We will also have printed copies at check-in that you may sign. 

If under the age of 18 during the Sprog overnight, a parent or guardian MUST sign this document prior to your stay. Students under the age of 17 are not permitted to stay the night in residence halls; we encourage those students to stay in local accommodations with family.

• Please upload your health records using the Patient Portal (SU login will be required). More information can be found here.
• You will NOT be able to spend the night for Sprog if you do not submit your health records.

• All students must take 3 semesters of a foreign language or proficiency through the 3rd semester of a foreign language as part of Southwestern’s General Education requirements. This exam will help us place you in the appropriate class.
• All students who plan to study a language taught at Southwestern which they have previously studied, and who are not transferring credit from another institution, must take a Language Placement Exam at least one week prior to Sprog. To determine which exam to take, go to the Language Placement and Credit page for more information.
• If you have experience in any of the following languages: Chinese, French, German, Greek, Latin, or Spanish, you must take the exam to determine your placement. This is the first step you must take before registering for classes at Sprog. Taking this exam does not mean that you will have to select a foreign language class for your first semester; however, it is a required step to take before you register. Your fall course registration cannot be completed until you have done so.
• If you have NO experience with another language other than English and plan to start fresh in a language offered at Southwestern or if you plan to complete a language that is not taught at Southwestern, you do NOT need to take the exam.
• Southwestern University does offer placement exams for languages not taught here. Please visit the language placement website for additional information.

Please upload a photo for your Pirate Card (student ID card) through this form by June 1st. You must be logged into your SU email account when you access the form. You will receive your ID at Sprog. 

Log into The Housing Director to begin the process by June 15th at 11:59 pm CST. If you have not yet applied for housing, additional details are emailed to your Southwestern email every Friday.

Please note that the date of submission of your housing form will drive your priority number for room selection. When considering roommate requests, if your building preference is more important to you, you may choose not to select a roommate during Roommate Selection and instead complete Room Selection as an individual. Hall/room preferences are not guaranteed.

• Due to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations, Southwestern cannot discuss bills, financial aid, or send grade reports with parents.
• In order for parents/guardians to view grades online, the student will need to grant proxy access through the Self Service website.  Once access is provided, parents/guardians will have the ability to view each semester’s grades and the cumulative GPA.  Proxy access from a student is effective until rescinded by the student.

The Transact Payment Portal is where you can view you E-bills, make payments, and set up payment plans. You can grant access to parents (or other individuals) to your Transact account by sending them a payer invitation. Detailed instructions are found here.

PLEASE NOTE: No other information will be available in the Transact portal until the student registers for classes and a bill is generated (after June 30th).

Refund and reimbursement payments to you are made via direct deposit. Students can enter their bank information in their Self-Service account now to expedite the payment process. Detailed instructions can be found here.
