A little about me
I grew up playing golf, so I have always enjoyed being active and spending time outdoors. I also love working out, fitness, and wellness. I have had the opportunity to live and study in three different countries, which has made me really enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultures. I think traveling is one of the best ways to open your horizons, learn from other people, and see things from a different perspective.
My Georgetown Recommendations
House of Gainz
If you like to work out, definitely check out House of Gainz. It is a popular gym in Georgetown and has a great community and a lot of different equipment. It is outside campus, but it is worth it if fitness is part of your routine.
Lake Georgetown
One of my favorite places around Georgetown is Lake Georgetown. It is only about 15 minutes from campus, and during the summer it is a great place to spend the day with friends. You can bring a floatie, relax in the water, or just have a picnic and enjoy the outdoors. You don’t always have to go all the way to Lake Travis when you have a beautiful place like this so close to campus.
Running and the Parks Around Georgetown
If you are a runner, definitely check out some of the parks and trails around Georgetown. There are a lot of great places to run, and it is a nice way to get outside and explore the area while staying active.
San Pedro Limon
If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, I definitely recommend San Pedro Limon. Being from Mexico, I am always looking for good Mexican food, and this is one of my favorite places around Georgetown.
“Chunch”- Church Lunch
Every Monday, a local church provides lunch completely free to all Southwestern students and faculty. It is a great way to get free food, meet other people, and take a break from classes. It is definitely something I would recommend students take advantage of while they are here.
