Joe Bourne graduated Cum Laude from Southwestern University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Management and minoring in Economics.

Following graduation, he joined the Officer Development Program at Texas Commerce Bank in Houston, where he gained experience across all of the bank’s operational areas, as well as worked on numerous “process improvement” initiatives that drew upon his management concentration.

Joe accepted an offer for a permanent assignment to Texas Commerce Bank’s Capital Markets Trading Division. This new role focused on the trading of short-term, fixed income products for both institutional and individual clients. His success in client relationship management and strategic financial analysis led to a long career in Wealth Management, where he collaborated with advisors and clients to evaluate current portfolio holdings in order to develop strategies to ensure suitability, as well as balance risk and return objectives to meet clients’ needs and goals.

Since retirement in 2017, Joe continues as a managing member of Cramer-Bourne Family LLC, the entity that owns and leases the family’s generational farmland properties located in the Rio Grande Valley. He has also renewed a lifelong interest in music (during the COVID-19 pandemic) by returning to the Alto Saxophone after more than 40 years. He now rehearses and performs with the League City Concert Band and the Alvin College Jazz Band.
