Timothy “Tim” Boone ’77
Dr. Tim Boone has Southwestern in his roots. He graduated from Southwestern with a bachelor’s degree in biology and, during his time on campus, was a member of Phi Delta Theta and served as a cheerleader. Several of his family members are also alumni.
Tim went on to earn his M.D. from the McGovern Medical School at UT Health, followed by an M.S. in physiology and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Over the course of his professional career, he has served as Associate Dean for the Texas A&M College of Medicine–Houston Campus and as an associate designated official (and former director) for the Houston Methodist Education Institute. He also has extensive board experience, having served on the board of directors for The Methodist Hospital Group, the board of the Methodist Hospital Physicians Organization, and the Southwestern University Board of Visitors.
From 2011 to 2019, he served on Southwestern University’s Science Center Advisory Committee, and in 2021, he was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Medal of Honor.
Tim has four children and currently resides in Spring, Texas.
