Geneva Walker, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Southwestern University who brings warmth, curiosity, and depth to her work with students. She is passionate about supporting individuals navigating grief, loss, and trauma, as well as anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. Her clinical interests include attachment theory, self-worth, identity development, relationships and sexuality, and personal growth through exploration.
Geneva also has a strong commitment to women’s rights and to creating inclusive, affirming spaces. She is LGBTQIA+ accepting and values diversity, equity, and belonging as essential components of healing. Mindfulness and meditation are integral to her work, helping students build awareness, resilience, and self-compassion.
In addition to her professional roles, Geneva is a mom of three boys, with one currently in college. This perspective informs her understanding of family dynamics, emerging adulthood, independence, and the emotional complexities that come with transitions and change.
Geneva is also a TEDx speaker. Her talk, Why Holding Both Is the Secret to Living Victoriously, explores resilience, meaning-making, and the ability to hold grief and growth at the same time. Drawing from both lived and professional experience, the talk invites viewers to rethink what healing really looks like and how we move forward without abandoning what matters.
