Dr. Hazel Nguyen received her Ph.D in Finance from University of Arkansas - Fayetteville, her dual MBA - MS in Information Systems from Boston University and her BS in Electrical Engineering from Hochiminh City University of Technology in Vietnam. Prior to her graduate studies, she worked as a software engineer for a chip design company in Vietnam.

  • Dr. Nguyen’s research focuses on corporate finance - factors that influence firms’ financing and investing decisions. Specifically, she studies how CEO characteristics such as gender and communication styles affect firm decisions. She has published works in peer-reviewed finance and management journals including Journal of Economics and Business, Accounting and Finance Research, Journal of Financial Management, Markets and Institutions, Accounting and Finance and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
