Studio Art Department Admission & Scholarship Portfolio Reviews

Studio Art

The Sarofim Scholarship in Studio Art is awarded to students who demonstrate talent and a strong desire for growth in the field of studio art. The application process involves a thorough review of the applicant’s portfolio by the faculty. We highly encourage prospective students to participate in a portfolio review during one of our Portfolio Review Days. This event provides a comprehensive understanding of the Studio Art Department and allows you to meet our esteemed faculty members. It’s important to note that portfolio reviews are not mandatory for admission into the Studio Art major at Southwestern. However, candidates who are awarded the Sarofim Scholarship may also be eligible for additional financial assistance through other Southwestern scholarships.

Sarofim Scholarships in Studio Art are for Studio Art majors only.

Prospective students interested in applying for a Sarofim Scholarship and pursuing a major in Studio Art have the opportunity to do so through the application process, which is open until March 1, 2024. Before registering, please take a look at the requirements outlined below. Portfolio Review Days at Southwestern University serve as a chance for us to get to know you and for you to get to know us. While attendance is highly recommended, it is not mandatory.  On-Campus Portfolio Review Days are November 12, 2023, or March 2, 2024.

If you need to submit an application for a fully virtual portfolio review, please register below.  All reviews require a thirty-minute interview that will occur at a later date once your digital portfolio is reviewed.   The deadline for submission of a virtual portfolio review is February 15, 2024.
