Undergraduate Research and Creative Works Travel Awards (UTA) give students the opportunity to share the research they have conducted alongside their faculty or staff with a wider audience, beyond our campus community. Applications are typically accepted throughout the academic year, but funds are limited, so you are encouraged to plan ahead. All guidelines, processes, and the application may be found on the Office of Academic Affairs’ Internal Funding webpage, linked below.

As a reminder, unlike in the previous Fleming or Sarofim awards process, students do not apply on their own for UTAs. Rather, the faculty or staff mentor must complete the application on their behalf, even if the mentor is not planning to travel with their student. Faculty and staff need only submit one application per conference/travel opportunity, regardless of how many students will attend. (Faculty may support more than one student.)

Faculty and staff may apply prior to receiving formal confirmation of acceptance to a conference or other opportunity, but must share proof of participation with the Office of Academic Affairs.
