High Impact Learning Experiences

New York Internships

The Program’s setting in New York City affords students a first-hand understanding of cultural diversity and a variety of perspectives and conventions.

The New York Arts Program is designed to help students acquire specific knowledge in their field of interest while reinforcing the development of skills that support continued learning and professional life such as the ability to work independently, establish priorities among tasks, contribute to team work, manage time, communicate ideas, analyze and synthesize information, and solve problems.

If you have a serious interest in the arts, creative industries and culture, the New York Arts Program can introduce you to the world of established art and media professionals and organizations in New York City; advance your creative and critical skills, and immerse you in a diverse ecology of concepts and practices

The New York Arts Program offers: internships; seminars led by NYAP’s core faculty, and a range of other creative professionals; individual advising by faculty to help you define learning goals and explore career options in the arts and creative industries; participation in a community of students and professionals representing a wide range of interests, skills and backgrounds; program events designed to encourage interdisciplinary discussion and present a comprehensive view of New York as a global cultural capital; and an independent urban living experience in New York City. Students reside in the program’s five-story dormitory/office town house in Chelsea, a residential area of Manhattan.

Applications are due in October and March for the following semester. Participants accepted: 50 per semester.
