Learn More about Southwestern’s History
While Southwestern University’s history dates back to 1840, Southwestern first moved to Georgetown in 1873 enrolling only 32 students taught by three faculty members. Today, we continue the tradition of higher education with an enrollment of more than 1,500 students and nearly 500 employees. Learn more about how Williamson County residents petitioned for Southwestern to join them in Georgetown.
