Admission and Scholarships

Students are eligible for awards in vocal and instrumental music, theatre performance, design and technical theatre, and studio art. Awards are renewable annually for up to eight semesters. Audition and/or portfolio reviews are required. Click on your area of interest below to learn more about Sarofim Merit Scholarships.

  • The music audition at Southwestern serves as both a formal audition into the music major and an audition for the Sarofim Scholarship in Music. For non-majors, it serves as the audition for a performance award. Your audition will help you get acquainted with the Sarofim School of Fine Arts, learn more about the music programs and ensemble participation offered, and introduce you to the Music Department faculty.

Students who are not admitted into the major program on the basis of the audition are welcome to participate in all activities of the Music Department for which they qualify. If they still wish to pursue the major, they may re-audition for the Music Department after they begin their studies at Southwestern.

This day offers you an in-depth look into the Studio Art Department and introduces you to the faculty.

A portfolio review is NOT required in order to join the studio art major at Southwestern. Candidates that receive the Sarofim Scholarship are eligible for additional assistance, including Southwestern scholarships.
