“Studying Chinese has had a tremendous influence on both my personal and professional life. I started as a freshman, with the intention of fulfilling the minimal requirements for my International Studies major and soon fell in love. I love studying Chinese not because it may help me find a decent job, but because I find it to be one of the most peaceful and deeply satisfying experiences I have had. Studying Chinese at SU, has allowed me to study in China, Middlebury, as well as attend Yale’s graduate school for East Asian Studies. Currently I am a Ph.D. candidate in Chinese Language and Literature at the University of Oregon.”
