When Layla Hoffen ’26 began her undergraduate journey at Southwestern, she wasn’t sure if she would be able to translate her interest in nature into a career. Thanks to Southwestern’s unique approach to the liberal arts, she was able to explore several different courses that matched her interests and helped her grow holistically. With the support of faculty and staff mentors, Layla was able to pursue a major in environmental studies and a minor in business, giving her purpose and direction, both personally and professionally.
