After graduating from Southwestern University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in political science, Christopher Bailey went on to earn his J.D. degree with a specialty in international and public interest law from Chicago-Kent College of Law, as well as his legal master’s degree in space, telecommunications, and cyber law from the University of Nebraska College of Law. A focus on the humanitarian impacts of armed conflict and an expert understanding of the legal structures underpinning our global system led him to a career in the United States Air Force as an attorney. Over seven different assignments across four continents, Bailey has become a highly-regarded international law practitioner. His work has not only strengthened the broader legal community but has made significant contributions to United States national security. He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and serves as Staff Judge Advocate at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
