All Things Wild Rehabilitation is a pillar of Georgetown’s community promoting respect and compassion for all wildlife, rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife to be released in their appropriate habitats, and providing sanctuary for all animals in need!

Created in 2012, All Things Wild has steadily grown and expanded its initiatives. Having the simple desire to help more wild animals, a group of wildlife rehabilitators turned to found spaces in their homes using everything from utility rooms, spare bedrooms, bathrooms, and patios to house animals in need. In 2018, the rehabilitators and animals moved out of their spare rooms and moved into a center on two acres of undeveloped pastureland conducive to the effective nursing, feeding, and care of animals taken in (though there are still many neonatal orphans cared for around the clock in volunteers’ homes).

Each year All Things Wild has approximately 3,000 patients admitted into their care. Without their presence in the community, many injured and sick animals without access to proper care and resources would likely suffer in extreme pain or be abandoned.

We thank All Things Wild for their role and commitment to helping wildlife in need. Southwestern has had a longstanding relationship with the center. Our very own Dr. Laura Hobgood, Professor of Religion, frequently serves as a volunteer and caretaker, and many Environmental Studies majors and other Southwestern students have both volunteered and worked for the center. One of these most prominent collaborations was Southwestern student, Ryan Andrade along with his peer’s production of a 3D printed prosthetic bill for All Things Wild domestic duck Polly who has a partially missing bill! Read more about Polly’s story and the work done by our students at Fox 7 Austin!

As a local non-profit organization, All Things Wild relies heavily on volunteers for aid with daily operations and support! If you’re looking for a way to get involved and help your local wildlife, visit their website and submit a volunteer application!
