Southwest Airlines flights are popular with most Texans, and a Southwestern graduate from Seguin is keeping them flying high. Sabrina Rangel has had one employer since she obtained her degree in business with a minor in communications in 2016.

While at SU, she was a favorite babysitter for at least one staffer, and was selected as a Kemper Scholar. With this, Sabrina says, “I received great mentoring and insight into preparing for leadership and service in the business world. I worked in Chicago one summer for a non-profit, Rogers Park Business Alliance, where we focused on community and economic development. The next summer, I worked for Kemper Insurance in the Human Resources department.” She was featured on the Apple podcast, “Interns on Fire.”

Sabrina credits Dr. Debika Sihi, “a wonderful professor at Southwestern, [who] connected me with someone at SWA and the rest is history.” Dr. Sihi says, “her collegial and empathetic attitude elevated the level of discussion and enhanced my class environment.”

Sabrina’s positions at the SWA corporate office in Dallas have taken her from an internship in marketing to DEI, and supply chain management departments. She says she has “enjoyed every day,” and currently leads efforts to diversify suppliers for the small and diverse business programs.

Congratulations to Sabrina for moving within the departments of her only post-SU employer and for her upcoming wedding on November 16.
