As part of Southwestern University’s transformative partnership with Houston Methodist Hospital, sophomore biology major Shay Bangert ’27 spent his summer participating in the Summer Undergraduate Research Internship program at the Houston Methodist Academic Institute. During his 10-week paid internship, Bangert worked to create cancer-killing vaccines and conducted research with leading cardiac experts.
