Southwestern Announces Adam Winkler as the 2024 Commencement Speaker
In May, Southwestern University will welcome Adam Winkler ’04 as the commencement speaker for the graduation ceremony celebrating the class of 2024.

Winkler is a prominent figure in the journalism field, boasting an illustrious career that spans across notable positions. He currently serves as a sports and news anchor/reporter at KTRK-TV (ABC) in Houston, Texas, and has demonstrated unparalleled dedication and expertise in his field. His journey in broadcast journalism includes roles such as serving as the sports director/news anchor at WTKR-TV (CBS) in Norfolk/VA Beach, VA, and the weekend sports anchor at KEYE-TV (CBS) in Austin, TX, among others.
Throughout his extensive career, Winkler has reported on numerous high-profile events, showcasing his exceptional storytelling abilities and captivating on-air presence. From covering major sporting events like the College Football Playoff National Championship and the MLB World Series to reporting on significant news stories such as the aftermath of the tragedy in Uvalde, Texas, Winkler has consistently delivered insightful and compelling journalism.
