Fellowships
Fulbright UK Summer Institutes
The Fulbright UK Summer Institutes are three to four week programs for US undergraduate students who have no or very little travel experience outside North America. Rising sophomores and rising juniors can explore the culture, heritage and history of the UK while experiencing higher education at a UK university.
First-year and sophomore students who have not traveled outside the US are encouraged to apply. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in various activities, which could include:
- Study alongside leading academics and professionals
- Experiencing cultural and social events
- Visiting UK cultural sites and areas of scenic beauty
- Meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures
- Becoming an ambassador for studying in the UK, for the Fulbright Commission and their host institution(s)
The Institute costs covered by the Fulbright Commission and its partners include roundtrip airfare, tuition and fees of host institution, accommodation, and possibly a small daily allowance for meals.
Transfer credit / SU Study Abroad application: Participants are also eligible to receive credit to transfer back to SU; therefore, applicants must complete a brief SU Study Abroad application prior to applying for the Institutes:
