Southwestern University has been named one of the country’s best undergraduate institutions in The Princeton Review’s yearly college rankings publication, The Best 389 Colleges 2024. The education-services company highlights Southwestern’s excellence across various categories:
- #1 in Texas and #5 in the nation for Best Career Services
- #1 in Texas and #13 in the nation for Top 20 Best Schools for Making an Impact (Private Schools)
- #1 in Texas and #25 in the nation for Top 50 Green Colleges
SU is also acknowledged in The Princeton Review’s unranked lists of Best Value Colleges and Best Southwest Colleges.
“We created our rankings to provide a resource for college applicants that helps them answer what may well be the toughest question in their college search—‘What’s the best school for me?’” said Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review and lead author of The Best 389 Colleges. “Our selection of colleges for this book reflects our high opinion of the schools: we recommend each one as academically outstanding.”
Only about 15 percent of America’s four-year colleges are profiled in the book, which is one of The Princeton Review’s most popular publications. The company chooses schools based on data it annually collects from hundreds of administrators about their institutions’ academic offerings. The editors also consider data they gather from surveys of students at the colleges who rate and report on various aspects of their campus and community experiences.
Best known for its tutoring, test-prep courses, college guides, and other student resources, The Princeton Review is headquartered in New York City and is not affiliated with Princeton University.
