Several Southwestern students transformed Checkov’s dry, turn-of-the-century piece The Cherry Orchard, and turned it into a production that takes place in three separate theater spaces and on Zoom. They received several nominations at the Region 6 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, then took their play to Edinburgh. While in Scotland, the actors perform their own theatrical piece and were exposed to other performers from around the globe.
This high-impact experience was made possible by Doug and Carol McGaughey P’04, whose daughter Heather McGaughey ’04, was a theatre major.
