In order to assist more underserved students, Southwestern has begun a partnership with Greenlight Match to assist students in finding colleges and scholarships through an alternative college admissions platform that flips the script on the traditional application process. The partnership enables Southwestern to compete for students with proactive offers of admission and financial aid.
“Applying for schools and scholarships can be overwhelming for many students, especially those who are the first in their families to attend college,” said Chris Marett, EAB president of marketing and enrollment solutions. “The Concourse platform makes it easy for students to engage with interested colleges and receive multiple enrollment and financial aid offers within a few days of creating a profile. Concourse also solves a major problem for colleges and universities, enabling them to diversify their student bodies by competing for these highly sought-after students.”
EAB recently acquired Concourse Global to increase access to higher education. Through this acquisition, students will work with their high school counselors to build anonymized profiles showcasing their academic achievements and interests. The technology then delivers matching student profiles to participating universities based on each institution’s selection criteria. After reviewing the profiles, universities make competitive admission and scholarship offers to students.
“The world of college admission is ever-changing and the model developed with Greenlight Match allows colleges to get to know students in a proactive way,” said Christine Bowman, Southwestern’s Dean of Enrollment Services. “For first-generation students, it provides access to schools that they may have never considered but are a fantastic fit for their academic and social aspirations.”
In 2021, EAB and Concourse began working together on Greenlight Match, which initially launched in the Chicago area. The launch generated nearly 2,000 admission offers, combined with more than $135 million in scholarship and financial aid offers to more than 650 local students. In partnering with Greenlight Match, Southwestern seeks to help students in Chicago and Texas attend and afford college.
