Meet the faculty taking you abroad and learn more about the program!
Attending the information session will fulfill the advising session that is required before you apply.
SU Switzerland: Sustainability and Development invites students to step into a living laboratory to examine sustainability, environmental justice, and social justice from a critical, interdisciplinary perspective. While Switzerland is globally renowned for its progressive environmental practices, exceptional livability, and resource management, it simultaneously wrestles with exclusionary social hierarchies, structural racism, and xenophobia. This course pushes students to look past the postcard-perfect surface and evaluate what “lived sustainability” truly means—and who it leaves behind. Through regular seminar sessions held at Franklin University Switzerland and experiential outdoor classrooms, you will investigate sustainable food systems, public transit mobility, renewable energy, and climate resilience.
Program will be led by Dr. Josh Long (Environmental Studies)
