Kappa Alpha Order (KA) was founded on December 21, 1865, at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. The Xi Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Order was founded at Southwestern University on November 28, 1883. It marked the first chapter west of the Mississippi River. Kappa Alpha is an order based on chivalry and Christian values and strives to create a lifetime experience that centers on reverence to God, duty, honor, character, and gentlemanly conduct.
