Ruter Hall
Martin Ruter Hall is a first-year men’s hall on the west side of campus, housing 92 residents and student staff members in two-person rooms with community-style bathrooms.
Martin Ruter Hall, a residence hall for men, was erected in 1955 in honor of Martin Ruter, a pioneer Methodist missionary, and educator. Funds for the building were provided by the Central Texas, Southwest Texas and Texas Annual Conferences of the United Methodist Church.
Martin Ruter Hall has laundry facilities and a lounge on the first floor equipped with a TV. Ruter is unique in that it encourages hall pride and unity with its community baths and traditional residence hall format
The university provides each resident in Ruter Hall with:
- An extra long twin bed
- A desk (42”x24”)
- A desk chair (22”x20”)
- A set of bookshelves (shared by the roommates) (24”x18”)
- A dresser (32”x18”)
- Ample closet and storage space above
Window/Blind Measurements
- Large window: 75” wide x 60” tall
- Smaller window: 36” wide x 60” tall
