Public Hours
Public Hours for the main library. Distinctive Collections hours differ.
Regular public hours while classes are in session. Doors will lock at 8 pm.
Sunday 1 pm - 9 pm.
Monday - Thursday 8 am - 9 pm.
Friday 8 am - 5 pm.
Saturday CLOSED to the public.
Hours will be reduced on holidays and during breaks.
Smith Library Center is open for community use. We ask all visitors to follow library signage and respect students working in the library. Visitors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Tour groups over 25 must give the library advanced notice before touring to limit interruptions to instruction and research by Southwestern students and faculty.
Student hours during normal semesters are “24/5.” This means SU students are able to access the library building from 1pm on Sunday until 6pm the following Friday. The library is also open on Saturdays from 1pm to 6pm.
