Health Education
At Southwestern University, the Health Education Office actively promotes the health and wellness of every student.
Who Are We:
The Health Education Office is a division of the Counseling and Health Center that strives to promote the holistic well-being of Southwestern students. Our programs, services, and resources are built upon the needs of SU students, as well as the eight different dimensions of wellness: Mental, Intellectual, Financial, Cultural, Occupational, Environmental, Spiritual, and Physical. The Health Education’s Mission is to:
- Bring awareness to and inform students about holistic wellness.
- Create inclusive spaces where all students feel valued, heard, and accepted.
- Intentionally create spaces for marginalized students to build community and break through stigma.
- Utilize peer lead facilitation and curriculum creation.
Our goal is to educate, empower and equip all students with primary and secondary preventative healthcare skills and resources to navigate the ever-changing landscape and demands of college life. By providing educational resources, guest speaker opportunities, activities, and health education through peers, this multi-level approach promotes overall health in students at Southwestern University.
