Work Order Request

Submit a Work order Request

You can submit and track Facilities Management Work Requests using FMX from any device with a web browser. FMX is the only place to submit work order requests to the Facilities Management — only emergencies should be submitted by telephone and followed up with a work order to FMX

    1. Submit work order through southwestern.gofmx.com (see Quick Step Guide below for instructions)
    2. Resident should reach out to RA if work order is more urgent
      1. RAs are on call from 7 PM - 7 AM
    3. RAs can determine if work order is more urgent
    4. If immediate assistance is needed, RA will call Campus Operator
    5. Campus Operators will call the designated number according to the Facilities schedule. Examples of emergencies are:
      1. Flooding/fire alarm issues
      2. Toilet, sink, tub, or shower clogged
      3. No power/locking issues with exterior doors
      4. Heating or A/C not working/broken glass doors/windows

    2. If immediate assistance is needed, call the Facilities Management team at 512.863.1300 if during regular business hours or the Campus Operator at 512.863.6511 if after work hours. Examples of issues that would need immediate assistance are:

Quick Step Guide to Facilities Work Order Requests

Southwestern University uses FMX to manage Facilities work order requests. The system is connected through Google Single Sign-On (SSO), so you can log in using your University email credentials.

How to Log In
  1. Open your web browser and go to southwestern.gofmx.com

  2. Select Log in with SSO and sign in using your Southwestern email

  3. Once logged in, you’ll be registered as a maintenance requestor and can begin submitting requests

Submitting a Work Order

FMX allows you to submit, track, and manage Facilities requests online.

  • Submit a separate work order for each type of issue (for example: plumbing, electrical, leaks, etc.)

  • Submitting issues individually helps ensure each request is routed and addressed appropriately
