Ashton is a senior from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He plans to graduate in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and a minor in Political Science. Ashton serves as the current Co-Portfolio Manager and previously served as the Annual Report editor. Outside of the FAP, Ashton is a member of the tennis team and the business club. After graduation, Ashton plans on pursuing a career in wealth management. 

Isabella Valenzuela is a senior from League City, Texas. She plans to graduate in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics and a minor in Data Science. Isabella accepted the position in the Spring of 2024 and serves as the Co-Portfolio Manager. Outside of the Financial Analyst Program, Isabella plays on the women’s golf team, is the Vice President of Operations for Tri Delta, and is a SU Student Ambassador working in Admissions. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in finance.

Cecilia is a senior from Dallas, Texas. She plans to graduate in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and a minor in Economics. Cecilia accepted the position in Spring 2025 and serves as our Trader. Outside of FAP, Cecilia is also a member of the Southwestern Women’s Soccer team and the Economics Society. After graduation, she plans on pursuing a career in finance or marketing analytics. 

Ethan is a senior from Montgomery, Texas. He plans to graduate in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Ethan accepted the position in Spring 2025 and serves as our Annual Report Editor. Outside of FAP, Ethan is also a member of the Southwestern University golf team, Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Economics Society. After graduation, Ethan plans on attending law school, where he will study financial and sports law. 

Rachel is a senior from Houston, Texas. She plans to graduate in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics and a minor in Data Analytics. Rachel accepted a position in the Financial Analyst Program in the Spring of 2025 and serves as the Accountant. Outside of the Financial Analyst Program, Rachel is a tutor for Fundamentals of Accounting and is a member of the Economics Society and the Business Club, where she serves as the Finance Chair. After graduation, she will attend Rice University to pursue a Master of Accounting and obtain her CPA license.

Garrett is a senior from Bakersfield, California. He plans to graduate in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and a minor in Data Analytics. Garrett accepted the position in Spring 2025 and serves as our Webmaster. Outside of FAP, Garrett is also a member of the Southwestern Baseball team and Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. After graduation, he plans on pursuing a career in financial analytics or data analytics, as well as player development in the professional baseball industry. 

Sebastian is a senior from Independence, Minnesota. He plans to graduate in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Mathematics. Sebastian accepted the position in Spring 2025 and serves as our Statistician. Outside of FAP, Sebastian is also a member of Southwestern’s Basketball and Track & Field teams. After graduation, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in financial engineering. 

Joseph is a senior from San Antonio, Texas. He plans to graduate in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Economics and a minor in Data Analytics. Joseph accepted the position in Spring 2025 and serves as our Secretary. Outside of the Financial Analyst Program, Joseph is a part of the Men’s Tennis Team and a member of the Senior Committee. After graduation, he plans to pursue a Master’s of Science in Finance degree.

Jackson is a senior from Dallas, Texas. He plans to graduate in May 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and a minor in Data Analytics. Jackson accepted the position in Spring 2025 and serves as our Economist. Outside of FAP, Jackson is also captain of the Southwestern Lacrosse team and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. After graduation, he plans on pursuing a career in Commercial Real Estate, specifically within brokerage services. 

Sam is a junior from The Woodlands, Texas. He plans to graduate in May 2027 with a Bachelor of Arts in both Business and Economics. In the Spring of 2025, Sam accepted the position as our public relations director. Outside of the Financial Analyst Program, Sam is on the men’s golf team, serves as treasurer for Pi Kappa Alpha, president of the Economics Society, and a tutor for the Economics department. After graduation, Sam plans to get into the financial side of the oil and gas production industry. 

Hazel Nguyen joined faculty of Southwestern University in 2014. Dr. Nguyen teaches in the areas of Foundations of Business, Entrepreneurship, Investments and Financial Statement Analysis. Her academic interests are executive incentives and firm behaviors. She received her undergraduate degree in engineering from Hochiminh City University of Technology in Vietnam, her MBA and MS in Information Systems from Boston University and her Ph.D. in finance from University of Arkansas.
