On-Campus Employment
Working on campus is a great way to earn money, build career-ready skills, and stay connected to the Southwestern community. Jobs are available across campus—from administrative offices and academic departments to student services and peer mentoring roles.
Note: On-campus positions are competitive, with more demand than available openings.
Types of Student Employment
-
Federal Work-Study
Some students are eligible to have their pay funded through Federal Work-Study as part of their financial aid package. Even with eligibility, you’ll need to apply and be hired for an on-campus position. Students without Federal Work-Study are also eligible to apply for most jobs on campus. -
Other Student Employment
Roles vary widely in responsibilities and time commitments:-
Positions with intermittent duties (e.g., proctors in the art gallery or fitness center)
-
Administrative and reception roles in campus offices
-
Paraprofessional peer-advising roles like Resident Assistants, Writing Center Consultants, and Peer Academic Mentors
Some positions may have specific requirements (class year, skills, or prior experience).
