Internships and other experiential opportunities let you test career paths, gain professional skills, and put classroom knowledge into practice. More than 60% of SU students complete at least one internship—and many pursue more than one. Research shows internships are the top factor in securing a job after graduation.
At Southwestern, you’ll find both academic (for credit) and experience-only internships, giving you the flexibility to explore careers at any stage. Through our Funded Internship Program, you may also qualify for financial support to make unpaid or low-paying internships possible. In addition, Study Away programs in Washington, D.C., and New York City combine coursework, internships, and on-site networking to jumpstart your career.
