Every year, the studio faculty select the best art works from their classes for exhibition in the Annual Student Art Exhibition normally seen in the Sarofim Fine Arts Gallery. The artworks from the 2020-21 academic year are online only, produced during the remote circumstances brought on by COVID-19. They represent a triumph of dedication and a spirit of investigation regardless of pandemic classroom rules such as: very limited time in the studio (5 hours a week), 6 foot distancing, wearing masks, and not sharing materials. The faculty is proud of the many determined ways that students set up their own studios in their dorm rooms, apartments, and homes to continue the work outside the studio classroom.
Art students are also encouraged to enter juried competitions that are available to undergraduates, and some have competed successfully in national juried exhibitions alongside professional artists. Those interested in careers as gallerists have the opportunity to curate exhibitions in the Alma Thomas Courtyard Gallery, an open access art gallery in the fine arts building housing student artworks and the occasional professional art exhibition.
