About Affinity Groups

The Association recognizes that many alumni formed their most valued Southwestern relationships through student organizations, residence halls, academic departments, social groups or shared interests.

In recognition of the importance of these connections, the Southwestern University Alumni Association invites any alumni organization, affinity, or interest group that meets the established criteria to formally affiliate with The Association as an Alumni Affinity Group. To formally submit a request to affiliate, please complete our online form. Questions about the affiliation process may be directed to the Office of Alumni Relations at 512-863-1410 or alumni@southwestern.edu. 

Affinity Group Benefits

There are many benefits to becoming an affiliated group with The Association. Here are a few examples:

• Request assistance from the Office of Alumni Relations in securing faculty or staff speakers.
• Seek help from the Office of Alumni Relations with reserving campus facilities for alumni functions.
• Request mailing lists and labels.
• Submit notices for upcoming events to alumni website calendars and/or for email communication.
• Hyperlink from the Alumni Affinity Group’s website and social media.
