About Connection Groups

The Association recognizes that many alumni formed their most valued Southwestern relationships through student organizations, residence halls, academic departments, social groups or shared interests.

In recognition of the importance of these connections, the Southwestern University Alumni Association invites any alumni organization, affinity or interest group that meets the established criteria to formally affiliate with The Association as an Alumni Connection Group. To formally submit a request to affiliate, please complete our online form. Questions about the affiliation process may be directed to the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations at 512-863-1589 or alumni@southwestern.edu. 

The Local Chapters and Connection Groups Chair on the Alumni Council is Dorothy G. Caldwell ’92.

Connection Group Benefits

There are many benefits to becoming an affiliated connection group with The Association. Here are a few examples (see the full list of connection group benefits):

• Use of campus facilities for official connection group events and activities. 
• Assistance with coordinating official connection group events and activities. 
• Alumni and Parent Relations staff manages the list of members for the connection group (including contact information).
• Alumni and Parent Relations staff can assist with coordinating email messages for connection groups regarding special events and announcements.

Like Southwestern student organizations, Alumni Connection Groups form around a variety of interest areas. There are currently 20 connection groups affiliated with the Southwestern University Alumni Association:
