Autumn: Admissions Travel Season
September - December
Fall college fairs take place. A number of these will be assigned to our SURV folks for coverage. The Admission Counselors, Director of Admission, and Dean of Enrollment Services all travel extensively during this time attending college fairs, visiting schools, and interviewing students. Additionally, Southwestern hosts a number of “Road Shows” in major metropolitan areas around the state of Texas.

Winter: Admissions Reading Season
January - March
Operation Pen & Paper (OPP) planning and execution takes place during January/February. Winter/spring college fairs take place. Again, we will request assistance from SURV volunteers for coverage of many of these fairs, this is heavy “reading season” in the Office of Admission.

Regular Decision application deadline
Spring: Admissions Conversion Season
March - May
This is the “conversion” season in the Office of Admission. Spring college fairs take place. There are speaking opportunities for volunteers primarily on campus including Pirate Preview, Top Scholar Weekend, Admitted Student Days, etc.

Summer: Admissions Planning Season
June - August
There are a few out-of-state college fairs that the Office of Admission will request coverage/support for from Recruitment Volunteers. This is a time for the Office of Admission staff to prepare and plan for the upcoming fall travel season (often beginning in July/August for SU).
