About the Alumni Association

Southwestern alumni are members by virtue of having completed at least 24 credits at Southwestern University.

 

Membership in The Association is free and for life.

The Southwestern University Alumni Association was established in 2003 and has grown to more than 18,000 members with approximately 74% living in Texas and 1% living internationally.

19 local chapter events hosted in 2024-2025. 
21 affinity groups. 
1,441 Homecoming attendees in 2025.
485 alumni volunteers in 2024-2025.

The Association is not a dues paying organization. Any Southwestern alumni who completes at least 24 credits at Southwestern University is automatically a member. View The Association’s Constitution & Bylaws here.

The Alumni Council

These 34 positions on the Alumni Council are elected to govern and guide the activities of The Association and unite the alumni base. Alumni Council members serve on one of three committees who work to connect alumni to 1) current students 2) fellow alumni, and 3) the University. Alumni Award Nominations

Southwestern University Alumni Association honors members of the Southwestern community who exemplify the Core Values of the University and the mission of The Association (see above). The Alumni Awards Presentation is held in the spring each year to celebrate the achievements of our Distinguished Award Recipients.

Any member of the Southwestern community may submit a nomination in any category. Nominations are typically collected in the winter and awarded in May.
