Checklist of Required Documents
In order to complete your transfer application to Southwestern, submit the following documents:
- Essay/Writing Sample: One essay is required. This requirement is met if the applicant submits an essay with the online transfer application. If you are not submitting the essay with your application, it can be emailed to admission@southwestern.edu. You may choose any prompt/topic you want to write about. The essay should be about 500-700 words in length.
- Official College Transcript(s): Official transcripts are required from every college or university a student has attended or are currently attending. This includes colleges a student attended for dual credit courses in high school. Transcripts must be sent to Southwestern directly from each college or university. Transcripts submitted by the student are not considered official.
- College Conduct Report : This form is a disciplinary/conduct check with the college/university you are currently attending or most recently attended. The student will fill out the top portion of the form then must forward it to a college administrator with access to your disciplinary/conduct record (generally someone in the Dean of Students Office) to fill out the bottom portion.
- Official High School Transcript or GED Certificate: An official high school transcript is only required from the last school you attended—your graduation school. Transcripts must be sent to Southwestern directly from the high school. Transcripts submitted by the student are not considered official. Official GED Certificates can be requested from the Texas Education Agency or the equivalent body in your state.
In some cases, we will require additional documents (mid-term progress report, recommendations, a personal interview, etc). When we ask for additional information, you must take responsibility for completing the requirements.
